Description
Aimed at the Olympic Kitefoil class, stripped down to the bare minimum to reduce drag. The bar comes standard with a click-in leash
All options explained:
Bar width – standard sizes we keep in stock are 46cm, 50cm, 54cm, 58cm, 62cm.
Bar diameter – 20mm is made from a tube with a 1mm wall thickness making it the lightest bar available. 22mm is made from a tube with a 2mm wall thickness, giving a heavier bar with unparalleled stiffness .
Bar surface – Rubber shrink-wrap grip glued onto middle 28cm of the bar, adding a durable grip layer with only 10gr extra weight while maintaining the direct and smooth feel of the carbon bar and only increasing the thickness by 1mm. Or choose a bare matte-sanded carbon bar
Trim System – 1:3 system offer the most trim range in a compact package, just light enough to be used as a racing trim system. 1:4 Is more precise and lighter to trim, but uses up more space and has a shorter total trim range.
Trim line length – We offer different lengths for the loose end you grab to trim. Medium is most used length for racing.
Trim line diameter – 5,5mm trim line is used for the micro cleat in combination with ronstan pulleys, 6.5 for the bigger standard clamcleat.
Bar travel – The maximum distance between the quick release and the clamcleat. The cleat moved down to adjust the length of the depower cord to you needs at the cost of some trim range so choose a length depower cord that is closest to the desired bar travel.
Depower cord material – With the new swiveling center hole the 5mm PU is the preferred option, it has a smooth surface and smaller diameter. Dyneema is thicker and has less friction but a textured surface. If you push hard with the bar against the depower cord we recommend the Dyneema covered cord.
Line plan – For training line durability is important, this setup includes a replaceable sk76-450 wear section of 1-1.5m just where the back lines rub against each other. If you want the least amount of drag during a regatta we offer a version where the sk99 lines directly connect to the trim system and leader lines.
Total line length – total length is measured from the bottom of the bar to the end of the lines. The exact total length depends on the chosen trim type and bar travel, for indication:
Total length +30cm – 550mm throw with 1:4 trim system / 650mm throw with 1:3 trim system, including race pigtails
Total length +40cm – 650mm throw with 1:4 trim system / 750mm throw with 1:3 trim system, including race pigtails
Total length +50cm – 750mm throw with 1:4 trim system / 850mm throw with 1:3 trim system, including race pigtails
Our standard lines are SK99+ 425 (1.5mm) front and SK99 300 (1.1mm) back lines
Race pigtails are 12cm short pigtails made from the same material as the flying lines.
Add a Quick Release directly during the bar configuration. As our release is harness based you only need 1 per rider. Saving overall travel weight.
Order a Custom length bar our standard lengths don’t suit you or choose a custom color combination bar-ends.
